Emirates launches direct Dubai to Shenzhen flights on retrofitted B777 aircraft

Emirates has launched daily direct flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) using its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The inaugural flight, EK 328, arrived at Shenzhen on July 1, 2025, and was greeted by airline and city officials, along with media partners.

Passengers onboard the maiden flight from Dubai received special gifts and certificates to commemorate the occasion.

Shenzhen is Emirates’ fourth Chinese destination, along with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Altogether, the Dubai-based carrier operates 42 weekly flights to China.

The four-class B777 flies to Shenzhen on the following schedules:

  • EK328 departs Dubai 1005 local time, arrives Shenzhen 2200 local time
  • EK329 departs Shenzhen 2355 local time, arrives Dubai 0340 local time, the following day

The B777-300ER offers eight private suites in first class, 40 lie-flat seats in business class, 24 seats in premium economy and 260 seats in economy class. The new business class cabin in a 1-2-1 layout will further offer aisle access to every passenger.

Shenzhen is the first Chinese mainland city to be serviced by Emirates’ retrofitted aircraft.

“We are excited to launch our new daily service to Shenzhen – one of China’s most dynamic and innovative cities. This milestone reflects Emirates’ ongoing commitment to strengthening our presence in the Chinese mainland and supporting the country’s trade and tourism objectives,” said Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer for Emirates.

“It is also aligned with the strengthening of China-UAE relations, and a strategic move to seamlessly connect the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s innovation corridor – an international innovation and technology (I&T) hub that aims to attract global innovation resources, through our flights,” Kazim added.
